Ways to get involved

Participating in Food For Families means we can support the growing number of people reaching out to us for help each year.

If you are an individual or a family, and you want to donate food please register now. If you’re having an event, getting your family and friends, community group or colleagues together you can download resources to support your collection.

Last year in the lead-up to Christmas, just over 70 tonnes of food and essential items were donated by generous supporters like you.

Make a cash donation

The impact your Food For Families donation will have

When times get tough, bills stack up and savings can quickly dwindle, food is one of the first things people go without. A lack of food leads to poor health outcomes, making it hard to work towards a brighter future.

Food and toiletries are a tangible way to help people in crisis. All cash and items donated to Food For Families support people who access our emergency relief centres across Victoria and Tasmania.

When people reach out to us for food, we are able to talk to them about the issues that have led to their financial insecurity and link them into services such as financial counselling, housing support and family violence services. We want to help every single person that reaches out to us, but we can’t do it alone.

Food For Families. Thanks to you.

Thanks to Eileen

Eileen and her family have been collecting Food For Families for five years now. Finding time to help others isn’t always easy with three children, but Eileen has found Food For Families to be a simple and effective way to give.

Thanks to Jess

Food For Families is a great way to bring family and friends together at Christmas. For the past three years, Jess has called on her nearest and dearest to help collect food and toiletries for families in need during the festive season

Thanks to Mount View Primary School

Mount View Primary School have been part of Food For Families for an amazing 23 years. Each year the children get excited about donating, thinking carefully about what they will bring in. Last year they collected more boxes than any other school in Victoria.
